What began as an ambitious attempt to create a psychedelic space disco album quickly derailed into a long and introspective Nomadic journey into my own mind. A huge departure from ‘Immediacy’s Berghain-esque thrash techno, AZ is instead a return to the soft emotional motifs conjured up by questioning our own existence, “why are we here”? “Why are there dark wizards in the world”? “Who are those beings from other dimensions”? “What now?” Written after completing Immediacy and taking it on the road to Berlin, I began asking those questions in the form of a song. Spending lonely days and nights on the road, many times playing outdoor spaces and parks for now one.. From Oakland to Reykjavik, from London to Basel, only to spend the majority of time exploring the fallen city of Berlin, meeting it’s creators, learning how they perceived the world. This record is as much a life journal as it was an album. So much was experienced yet so much left unanswered.. However, making this record reminded me of the brevity of life, and to cherish these ephemeral moments with those we Love.
